Vibram Maremontana Running Park

To Loano… running! This is not only an invitation to reach the splendid location of the Ligurian West Coast, but also a suggestion on how to experience and discover it. The city of the Doria and its district, in fact, are located at the exact center of the Vibram Maremontana Running Park, the first park in Liguria entirely dedicated to lovers of running in all its forms.

The project, launched by the Asd Maremontana together with the municipal administration, develops through a series of routes suitable for all types of public: from athletes to nonprofessional, from the “trained” to the “untrained”, from runners to walkers to bikers. The routes develop between the coast and the hinterland and each is classified according to the level of difficulty: there are the “urban” ones for those who simply love walking; the “lover routes” are aimed at those who walk and run as a hobby, but do not do it regularly or follow a specific preparation; the “trails” are instead reserved for those who follow a specific training program and also participate in competitive races; finally the most challenging “ultras”, reserved for the most trained athletes. In short, a series of routes able to respond to every type of athlete: from the family who wants to spend time outdoors with their children to the “grandpa” who walks to stay in shape to athletes who want to test themselves or train for an important race.

Those who love technology can download the Vibram Maremontana Running Park app, which allows the geolocation of the user and is based on a technical cartography of local coordinates. Thanks to this, it is possible to tackle each route in total safety, having real-time GPS data, information on distance, altitude difference, and altimetry. There is also the overall cartography and for each route the map with the indication of the direction of travel and the description in the desired language.

Alongside the routes to be followed on foot there are those to be tackled on mountain bikes and e-bikes. Each route winds through suggestive landscapes and views, which accompany the runner and bikers in a continuous discovery of the territory. For each route, short audiovisuals, a list of points of interest and, more generally, tourist, cultural, technical and commercial information are available.
